I've collected and listened to 'Hawkwind' records for my entire life. I loved the mysterious spacey music, sleeves and lyrics. I asked Dave many times if he would participate on one of my CDs, but I was never able to reach him, until Star One. He's never been a guest on anyone elses project either, which makes me extra proud to know he was on mine. Despite his 62 years Dave still sounds like he used to. Of course he is no Ronnie James Dio technically speaking, but I do think he is an underestimated singer. Besides I am a big fan of his typical British accent. Dave had to sing his own songs of course (a Hawkwind Medley), but he adjusted quite well to my heavy and fast versions. Considering the many positive emails I received from Hawkwind fans worldwide, I am very proud of the final result. Greatest experience I had. He is a true gentleman. He cooked a nice dinner for me, and we spent some time together on his estate drinking some wine, and enjoying 'nature'. ;O) |
