    Such a great news !!

Any of your project would have been fine (loved the solo album by the way !), but an Ayreon release is always extra special !

I know you have a list of potential singers enough to make 100 Ayreons albums, but I think that Blaze Bayley would fit really well with your music (except if you’re going full blown into the hippie direction :P ).

Also saw that you’re planning on releasing some special editions. That’s always cool. Thanks for still releasing some great PHYSICAL products.

Are we in 2013 now ????

    • Arjen says:

Glad you enjoy the solo album, Philippe! And oh yes, we will make sure that there will be some really special packages this time :-)

  2. Davide says:

We want know when you will be again on stage, especially in Italy!!!
I listen your song from 2000, an I saw you live only one time.
See you soon, and thank for your Music

    Bergamo (Italy)

    • Arjen says:

Oh sorry Davide, I haven’t played live in a long time and I have no plans to do so…but that will give me extra time to perfect the new Ayreon album :-) Ciao!

  3. Travis says:

Hey Arjen, just wanted to say I can’t wait for the new album. I’ve been listening the hell out of “01″ lately. In my opinion that is one of the greatest records of all time and will always be one of my favourite albums. I’ve been getting my friends in to it too, so they can enjoy it like i have :) . Playing the songs has also been a blast. The first riffs in “age of shadows” get me pumped up every time.

Anyways to cut my praisings short haha… Very much looking forward to some new Ayreon. It shall be worth the wait for sure!

    Thanks a lot. Travis

    • Arjen says:

Glad you enjoy 01 so much, Travis! And thanks for the promotion, much appreciated :-) Say hi to your friends for me, I’ll make sure not to let you guys down with the next one :-)

  4. Nicolas says:

    Hey Arjen !

This is great news. You could ask Astrid Van Der Veen to join, since she seems to be back in the music business :)

Cheers ! Can’t wait to hear from that album :)

    • Arjen says:

I’d love to work with Astrid again, Nicolas! But my guest list for the next Ayreon is already full. Well, hopefully one fine day :-)

  5. Simon says:

Hey Arjen, awsome stuff man! Me and my girlfreind are so excited about the new release!!! Hope we get to hear from Ed Warby again, he is so in tune with your work, its insane!

Dont know if youve heard about the pc game called EVE online, but man, those tracks from Universal Migrator while exploreing the different nebulas of space in my space ship. ITS PURE THERAPY! ;D

Anyways we just wanted to say thanks for your great musical input!

Greetings from the dark halls of Denmark!
    Tina & Simon

    • Arjen says:

Good to read you’re looking forward to it, Simon, hug Tina for me!

Oh yes…of course Ed will be there again :-)

No, don’t know anything about games…but good to read my spacey stuff inspires you! Space on :-)

  6. Itay says:

Im so happy that you going to release a whole new ayreon album!
I think you are one of the most genius musician and prog-composer that our world has seen.
By this teaser I understand this album is going to be awsome…
I’m curious to know which great singers you collaborate with this time…
    Expecting for another masterpiece
(PS: I’m kind of addicted to your “Human Eqution” and I wish your Ayreon’s next album would be even better and perfect)
Thanks Arjen for all you’ve done and will do…

    • Arjen says:

Thanks for the big compliments and the confidence, Itay! I will try to fulfill your expectations for sure and make you forget all about The Human Equation :-)

      • Itay says:

I don’t think that I forget about one my top 10 albums, but I hope the new album will get into this list too.
        Thanks Arjen

  7. Andrew says:

Hey Arjen, awesome announcement video! It even has good replay value. Just those pieces of songs are really exciting. I’m still amazed at how dynamic your riffs and melodies are. How do you come up with them? :)

Now to wait and see which singers you’ll get. I can’t stop listening to Star One lately, so I’m distracted. :D

    • Arjen says:

Thanks Andrew, glad you enjoy it! No idea how I come up with that stuff…if I knew, I’d do it every day :-) The singers hunt is going very well so far, I hope you will be pleased!

  8. progfredje says:

    hey Arjen

good to hear you’re working on a new ayreon album.
I’ve been a big fan since the final experiment
You always seem to find the right voices for your songs.
from Barry hay to James la Brie and Anneke van Giersbergen.
I have full confidence in you to find another set of vocalists for your great music
since you commented that your guest list is full can you give us a hint

    peace progfredje

    • Arjen says:

Thanks progfredje! Yes, I’m extremely proud of all the singers I’ve worked with so far.

But sorry, it’s way too early for hints… But I promise, once I’ve recorded the singers and instrumentalists we’ll think of some silly guessing-games again :-)

  9. Aart van der Jagt says:

Hoi Arjen. By the way, Lost in the new real was ook al erg goed. Keep on the good work.

    Groet, Aart.

    • Aart van der Jagt says:

Hoi Arjen.

      - Roine Stolt (Flower Kings)
      - Vincent & Danny Cavanach (Anathema)
      - Lee Douglas (Anathema)
      - Steven Wilson (Porcupine tree / Blackfield / no-man)
      - Steve Hogarth (Marillion)

      En natuurlijk onmogelijk: Roger Waters.

      • Arjen says:

  10. Ashely says:

I’m so excited to hear a new album is coming out! I recently got into you (have 01 and Universal Migrator, waiting for Human Equation CD to get in). It’s such a shame it took me so long to hear about Ayreon. I mean, Simone Simon, Russell Allen, Bruce Dickinson singing about black holes, and of course the beloved Hansi singing as an alien etc. etc., who couldn’t love it! There’s a few of us ayreon fans on tumblr and I’m pretty sure we’re all excited to hear new stuff Best of luck, I know whatever you produce next will be great!

PS: This video was really cute and precious, though I’m not sure if that’s what you were going for. :)

  11. Sebastián Andrés Elgueda Jure says:

    Hey Arjen,

Nice news about the new ayreon work!, your music its very awesome, im listening a dics every day, because you music its the best soundtrack from my computers games :) , I am from chile, very very far from you, but here to many people love you work.

    Thanks for all!

  12. Florian says:

    Hey Arjen,

I am so excited about the new album and the fact that you are using the hammond, I almost had a heart attack when you mentioned, that you thought about not using it on your solo album. I can’t wait to listen to the new album :)

Is there going to be a release party and any way for a normal fan like me to participate there?

    Cheers
    Florian

    • Arjen says:

Yeah right, I tried to do something different for the solo album, but I couldn’t stop myself :-) But yes Florian, plenty of Hammond again!

Not sure yet about a release party. But we’ll keep you updated.

  13. Rudak says:

Hey Arjen, I’m very ansious! You opera is a masterpiece! I love Meta and Spacial theme, then I love your music! See ya! From Fortaleza – Ceará – Brasil!

  14. Stephanie says:

I hadn’t visited the site in a while and today when I was listening to my mp3 player, Isis and Osiris came on. I found myself wondering what you were up to, and here I am.

I’m not going to lie, I find this news VERY exciting. I’d say I’ve played your music until I’m sick of it, but that would be a lie. 5 or 6 years, and I still love your work every time I listen to it. The beauty of the work you do (for me) lies in its diversity– diversity from album to album, track to track, and even the diversity of styles that you can hear inside of a single song.

So here’s looking forward to the next journey you’ll take us on, Arjen!

    Cheers,
    Stephanie

    • Arjen says:

Thanks for your kind words, Stephanie, good to read you enjoy it so much! Well, I can guarantee you many different styles and moods on the new Ayreon again…I’m having fun :-)

  15. Aart van der Jagt says:

Hoi Arjen.

    Hasse Froberg (Flower Kings)
    Lisa Gerrard (Dead can dance)
    Brendan Perry (Dead can dance)
    Rob Halford (Judas Priest)
    Matt Barlow (ex-Iced earth)
    Stu Bock (Iced earth)
    Adrian Belew (Zappa/Bowie/King crimson/Talking heads)
    Tori Amos.

    Groet, Aart

    • Arjen says:

Mooi lijstje weer, Aart!

  16. Noel says:

At first I was okay with the world going to end in 2012, but after hearing this news, I was like “I’ll slap an incoming asteroid away with my bare hands if that’s what it takes to keep the world alive long enough to hear this album”.

Anyway, I really hope you’d consider throwing another release party. If I could go back in time, the first place I’d visit would be the 01011001 party. Keep being awesome.

    • Arjen says:

Oh no, Noel…it would be a shame for the world to end now…I already put so much work into this new album :-) Not sure about a release party yet though, we’ll see. It takes a lot to drag this recluse from his trusted little bubble here, hehe… Thanks for your message, I won’t let you down with the new album!

  17. Henry says:

    Hi Arjen,

First of all, i cant wait for the new Ayreon ! We have a little Band here in Germany (only 3 guys) and we play a lot of progressive stuff. The bad thing is,we dont have so much time to write our own songs cause we all have a full time job. But,one of our biggest influences are you (and also all of your singers) with your great Star One and Ayreon Projects. On of our Dreams is to see Arjen on Stage. I dont know if this Dream come true, but i hope :-)

Thank you for your music and spacy greetings from germany to you !

    • Arjen says:

Great to read I’ve been able to inspire you guys, Henry! But sorry, the chance is very small that you’ll ever see this recluse on stage again…I’m having way too much fun in the studio :-) Good luck with your band and have fun, tschüss!

  18. Francisco says:

Arjen! Plz call Daniel Estrin! =D
