The following albums feature backing vocals
Anthony – Pools of Sorrow, Waves of Joy
Ayreon – The Final Experiment
Audio To the Quazar
Mirjam van Doorn – vocals
Arjen explains:
Mirjam is the wife of Peter Vink, my favorite bass player. She has a high and bright powerful voice that blends wonderfully with the dark voice of Debby Schreuder. After my Vengeance years, Peter, Robert Soeterboek, Ian Parry and I together with Mirjam played in a 70s cover band named ‘The Renegades’.

Debby Scheuder- vocals
Arjen explains:
Debby is a friend of Mirjam van Doorn, bassist Peter Vink’s wife. In contrast to Mirjam, Debby has a more ‘black’ voice, quite soulful. Debbie and Mirjam had prepared their backing vocals perfectly in advance and so they could be recorded very quickly. Debby’s solo bit on ‘Ayreon’s Fate’ is perfect (‘and all the nations…’) As a joke she sang it with a bluesy feel, and was surprised when she found out we decided to keep the take for the album.

Lucie Hillen – vocals
Arjen explains:
Lucie is a good friend of my wife Jolanda and her father is a well-known conductor. She is a singing teacher and often performs as a classical singer. Because I think grunting and operatic voices are two extreme ways of singing, I wanted to see both styles on my first CD ‘The Final Experiment’. Lucie, a mezzo-soprano, improvised her entire vocal part and did a fine job.
