Clive Nolan – keyboards Arjen explains: Clive may very well be the biggest name in the English neo-prog scene. I’d seen him perform with Pendragon a number of times and every time I noticed that big sound of one of his synthesisers. It turned out to be an analog imitation of a Minimoog (Studio Electronics 1). I asked him to use this synth for a duet with a flutist on ‘Into the Electric Castle’ This flutist was someone by the name of Thijs van Leer of the band Focus, and as it turned out Clive is a big fan of Thijs! So he recorded an extra beautiful solo! For ‘Flight of the Migrator’ Clive asked if he could do his solo in the song that Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) sings. And so it was done. In exchange I played the guitarparts on the Oliver Wakeman/Clive Nolan project: ‘The Hound of the Baskervilles’.
